I saw so many Mommy blogs that only showed the perfect, American Dream parts of their lives...at first I was thinking, "What is wrong with us??? We are nothing like these 'normal' families!" But, I know it can't all possibly be milk and honey.

I have never claimed, nor wanted to be 'June Cleaver', my husband certainly is not 'Daddy Knows Best', and my kids??? Far, far from the 'Brady Bunch'...yet the perfect case study for proving that ADHD is genetic! Then add on all of my son's other issues...my family is the recipe for chaotic living.

So...I decided to put a "real family" out there. The good, the bad, the ugly, the depression, the isolation, the tears of joy when someone tells you that no, you are not a bad mother and I am here to help. Along with the doctor who actually told me I was a bad mother and cared more about my special needs son than I did my asthmatic daughter. And even though I know he could not be more wrong, that really threw me for a loop for days.

ANYWAY...the reason why I shy away from leaving comments is because they turn into novels! lol!...if ONE mom reads my blog and thinks, "Hey! I'm not the only one!", and it helps her in the most minute way, I will have achieved my goal.Laurihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13738480269575391608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576512360780684236.post-63661279811455251442007-05-24T08:40:00.000-07:002007-05-24T08:40:00.000-07:00I agree, with the idea of it being a connection.I agree, with the idea of it being a connection.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576512360780684236.post-58103207484677859972007-05-03T11:56:00.000-07:002007-05-03T11:56:00.000-07:00I know why I started at least: basically as a way ...I know why I started at least: basically as a way of letting the folk back home know what we were getting up to.

However, the "why" has changed several times since then.

One thing's for sure: if anyone sits down and thinks to themselves that they'll make a fortune on their blog, it'll take a looooong time!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576512360780684236.post-24336049171270158272007-04-25T16:23:00.000-07:002007-04-25T16:23:00.000-07:00I agree with you also. I have found an emotional social network through blogging that our family desperately needed to know that we are not alone in this fight :)

Have a great day!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576512360780684236.post-7059153607913577772007-04-22T10:21:00.000-07:002007-04-22T10:21:00.000-07:00I agree with you! Of course, I'm not really sure exactly how productive it is either!

I have made some wonderful connections through my blog, though, and have "met" people all over the world that I never would have been able to meet before were it not for the Internet and the Blogosphere. Heck, I didn't even know there was such a thing as the Blogosphere until a few months ago!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05698969349369789642noreply@blogger.com
